Oregon PCT 2016 And That’s A Wrap Sign at the trailhead on HWY 62. Here I go, looks easy enough. A little more snow but I still have a trail. A few downed trees. A few more downed trees ...and this. Still in CLNP. Most of it looked like this... Sometimes this was all I had to go by. Still have trail and a nice flat one. Near miss. Yeah! So tired of snow and forest, that looks like a nice view. A little scramble. My view to the south. Pretty flowers. More route finding, the trail's through there. Finally leaving the park, 6 miles and 6 hours. Dinner view. Entering wilderness. A break from the snow and trees, Love the contrast. Camp Day 1 More guessing at trail. Trail junction First of several burn areas. Camp Day 1 View from my tent. Morning Day 2 More burn Go Hawks! Love to see new growth Back to snow covered trail. More routefinding. More trees to circumnavigate. Surprise water across trail... ...I got to skip this spring. Drying out at breakfast. More junction. Actual running water, rare on the PCT in Oregon. That's my pass. Heading up through the trees. Which was is best? Straight up, I guess. They can't wait for the snow to melt, either. Up I go. View from the saddle. Klamath in the background. Downed PCT marker. Continuing on the ridge... ...not always bare. Up and over. More burn, fresher than the last section. Very hot and dry. Bonus water? Nope, took wrong turn. Most of the water is NOT on the PCT. Camp Day 2 Hiding from bugs in my tent. Port-A-Potty. Day 3, spring 3. View for breakfast. Side trail to Fish Lake Resort. Lava evidence. Chilling at Fish Lake Day 4, leaving Fish Lake and back on the PCT. Reminds me of the central section of the PCT. New life from the old. 1/3 for me. Brown Mountain Shelter. Earning my water. That green corridor everyone talks about. Road crossing. Tree took out the boundary gate. Spring #4 Warning at spring #4 What a lovely sight. Nap time in the afternoon. Love to see that trail work. The "canal", not drinkable. Not a friendly area. Camp Day 4 The bruises are coming in nicely. I don't need a view after 26 miles. Day 5 Water at Lake Hyatt. Yum. Another road crossing at the campground. Pretty cool dam. Lots of gates on this section. I-5 More green corridor. A little hug... Perfect. Paintbrush. In and out. My last spring. View from my afternoon nap. Finally after 3 years! Yep, I earned this one. Please share if you enjoyed this!
