Highway 2 (US State Route 2)

Highway 2 (US State Route 2) or the Stevens Pass Greenway was  designated a National Forest Scenic Byway on April 14, 1992. It runs through 2 national forests and is a part of the Cascade Loop with the North Cascades Highway. Highway 2 (US State Route 2) is the closest access to the outdoors for me so I tend to choose it first when I need to get away.  I grew up on its hills and rivers as my mom is a hiker too.

My favorite places to stop post hike with friends are: Grilla Bites, Route 2 Taproom and Grazing Place, Good Brewing Company, River House Cafe, Espresso Chalet, Gustav’s, Yodelin’s Broth Company, South, Dan’s Food Market,  or just Pack A Cooler. You can learn more about these places in my Must Hike Must Eat Eating Out Guide.

Find out current conditions and as always, practice Leave No Trace.  Pretty please.

I recreate on the stolen ancestral lands of the Coast Salish, Stillaguamish, Snohomish and Tulalip peoples, lands held in time immemorial.  This land and its people must be protected and honored; their history, relationships and culture are not only of the past but are now and into the future, holding the key to proper stewardship.  Learn more here…
