Saddle Rock

These are my pictures from a visit to Saddle Rock Trails in Wenatchee, WA.  For more information about the hike itself including a map, visit here. There is a kiosk at the trailhead with paper maps.  It is roughly 1.3 miles to the summit and about 950 feet in gain.  I wrote more about Saddle Rock at Is Saddle Rock In Wenatchee A Super Volcano?     Just doing a little exploring around Wenatchee for the day, I could spot “trail” when turning off the main drag for Mission Ridge so I took a few side streets and ended up in the beautiful large parking lot for Saddle Rock.       Starting up on a decommissioned road that narrowed and divided, I ended up doing a 3 mile loop up to the viewpoint at the top. It was a sort of choose your own adventure.     One section was a bit sketch were the social trail was eroding, loose pebbly stuff but you don’t really know until you get there. I might have taken a different route. It looked like it was possible to continue back into the land beyond for quite a few miles of wondering if you wanted to.     Gorgeous rock formations and views!     Directions: From Wenatchee heading south, follow signs for Mission Ridge until you are on Miller Street. Turn right on Circle Street and follow until it dead ends at the large parking lot at Saddle Rock Natural Area. There are bathrooms and picnics tables.  Some areas are closed seasonally (December-April) so check for conditions here.   Thank you so much for stopping by Must Hike Must Eat! I recreate on the stolen ancestral lands of the Coast Salish, Stillaguamish, Snohomish and Tulalip peoples, lands held in time immemorial.  This land and its people must be protected and honored; their history, relationships and culture are not only of the past but are now and into the future, holding the key to proper stewardship.  Learn more here…
